Audio formats and limits
Only formats and caps that this site or the conversion API actually expose are listed here.
What the conversion server listed
A live GET /v1/limits response during this rebuild included:
- formats: wav, mp3
- max_upload_mb: 5
- max_audio_seconds: 11
- tasks: voice_clone, gender_swap, remove_vocals
The file picker still allows audio/* and video/* so you can choose a voice note or a video that contains audio. That is a convenience. The server can still reject the file.
What this website sends
If the browser decodes the file, VoiceLab encodes a short WAV clip (currently 10 seconds) and uploads that. The public config also asks for result format wav. If decoding fails, the original file is uploaded unchanged.
If your file is the wrong type
Export or convert it to WAV or MP3 with software you already trust. This site does not host or recommend unofficial downloaders. Do not install random “converter APKs” to use VoiceLab.
Troubleshooting
- Unsupported or bad type: export WAV or MP3 and try again.
- Too large: 5 MB was the server cap when checked. A 10-second WAV is usually far smaller. If you send an original video, it may exceed the cap.
- Too long: shorten the file or use the on-page window so only the highlighted seconds are sent.
- Unreadable / corrupt: re-export the audio. A file that plays on your phone can still fail server-side.
- No waveform: Safari or locked DRM files may not decode. You can still try Convert; the server will accept or reject it.
